You can all have the golden ticket! Forget the heartshape box of chocolates-give me the whole factory!
I think we have all seen atleast one of the varients of the Willy Wonka movies. I think the orginal movie is the best. The one with Johnny Depp kind of freaked me out and the most recent one with Timonthy Chalamet was good and had actual came out right when the experience I am going to share happend.
When visiting Zurich, Switzerland there are so many incredible oppertunities to take advantage of. But one of my absolute favorite experiences was going to the Lindt Chocolate Factory. Now, I must advise that I am not the biggest chocolate fanatic-but I am a foodie. AND THIS is something I believe everyone should experience. The factory moves you through the entire process of chocolate making, as expected.
But then you actual get to experience the taste. You walk into this huge room that has these machines, and when you stick your hand under the machine it automatically spits out chocolate. How amazing would that be at home…. There were different kinds of chocolate you could experience. Dark, milk, white, some even had fruit as well that they were testing to bring to market one day.

Now if you are like me you may be wondering is this sanitary?? There were employees the entire time we were in the tasting rooms sanatizing, cleaning, or picking up garbage.
The next room had large chocolate fountains that again, allowed you to taste a melted version of the dark, milk or white chocolates. Oh yeah-did I mention they were warm when you taste them. The melted chocolate section provided you disposable spoons to use while tasting the chocolates.
After you complete the tour, you of course get dumped into the Lindt chocolate store. But- they have every kind of chocolate they have ever made in there. We got a mix of pick your own Lindt truffles-decently priced of all the kinds of truffles we had never seen or had before. After the store there was a cafe that had all different types of chocolate treats you could purchase and enjoy. The hot chocolate was very rich. I had a couple sips but was glad it was something that was shared.
The main entrace of the factory displays a massive chocolate fountain that is actually cycling real chocolate.

The experience overall took around 3 hours but was very worth it. I am looking to make travel guides and share them on here with my recommendations of things to eat, experience, and see in each country. Please leave a comment if you would be interested or if you’re just a chocolate lover.
Until next time-safe travels,
The Wanderer
